About Me

I am a Senior Data Scientist and Responsible AI Specialist in healthcare at UCLA Health in the Office of Health Informatics & Analytics in Los Angeles, California. Prior to moving into healthcare in June 2022, I was a technical Staff Scientist at the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) in Baltimore, Maryland. I worked on the Hubble Space Telescope's (HST's) Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (STIS) instrument team as a Data Scientist.

During my postdoc in astrophysics research (2018 to 2021), I leveraged data science methods to understand the role of star-forming galaxies in ionizing the Universe (see e.g., Prichard et al. 2022). I earned my PhD in astrophysics in June 2018 as a Hintze Scholar at the University of Oxford. More information about my work in astrophysics can be found here.

I am passionate about increasing equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in academia, data science, and healthcare. I have led several initiatives throughout my career to support this goal, and build this work into my current role as a Responsible AI Specialist in healthcare. See my talk on Responsible AI at UCLA Health at UCLA's 2023 Data Day. Read more about my EDI work and outreach activities here. A link to my resume can be found below.
